Rich in History
April Hill Ranch was established in 1987 after the Richards family purchased the land and home from the previous owners. The family didn’t waste any time turning this beautiful estate into a working ranch, adding round pens to work the horses, cattle pens — chicken, duck and turkey houses, two gardens and two fully stocked water tanks.

April Hill Ranch has been a cherished home for four generations of the Richards family. Carolyn Cordes, one of the Richards' daughters, raised her three kids here with her husband. Carolyn was all about teaching her kids the value of hard work. Alongside homeschooling, they learned to garden, care for horses, work cattle, and take on various other ranch responsibilities.
“We homeschooled for many reasons but ultimately we wanted the children to be able to pursue other avenues of interest while receiving a good education.”
